Fished a tournament with my son for the first time. Caught a lot of fish in the 10” range in the southwest end of the lake around the reed edges using a texas rig. Caught some around the docks with a jackhammer but could not find any kicker fish.

The fish were crushing the swim jig today. We had close to a 50 fish day between offshore weeds and jerk baits and shallow water swim jig fishing. Could not find the size of fish we wanted but that’s how it seems to go on Rock lake right now.

Found success swimjigging the grass in the morning before lake was busy. When swimjig bite slowed we went offshore looking for smallies....Ended up finding more largies. Per usual with Dink City. It only took 9.5lbs to win the tournament. We got third with 8.8lbs. Dirty Jigs swimjigs can't be beat!

Good numbers of large mouth in southern bay and small mouth guarding beds in main lake. Had success with a senko in shallow grass flats and a spark shad in deeper weed edges.

With the waters warming throughout the day, fish were moving up shallow and into beds or cruising. I caught a few bedding fish and the rest off of rock piles while slow-rolling the jig and biffle bug through the rocks in 3-6’ of water.
