This is a great time to get on the water and spend the day fishing. Water temp starts out in the 37 degrees but goes up to 47 degrees water 🌡 on the main lake. I look for current brakes by bluff walls that had lots of sun . I side scan the wall for fish, using my Lowrance unit, saw fish hugging to the walls or hidden pockets. I use the 3/16 outkasttackle perfect Ned head with the Xzonelures Ned Zone, in big limit color. When I got a bite, it just got heavy and set the hook. 10lb suffix brand line with a 6lb suxfix floro leader line to get more bites . I used the Omnia Fishing premium app to find warm water Temps on the lake ,and told me the main lake had warmer water. Give it a try, have fun, and be safe on the water .

41 degree water temps Target main lake points between 25-40ft of water. - Umbrella Rig, slow roll around 5-10 from the bottom and the rig above the fish. - Tailspin, small hops off the bottom triggered the bite - Berkley flat worm + Matt Stefan jig head. choose light enough of a head to get a natural spiral on the fall. this is KEY!

Fish were holding on beds between 3-12'. Beds were butted up against large rocks, and brush. I found slowly dragging a weedless ned head paired with a Roboworm Ned Worm in Aarons Magic through the bed to work best. In fact I had one break me off, after tangling me in the branch its bed was against, and then take it about 15 minutes later, and I was able to recover the first Ned from it.

The day was unusually warm. Some of the grass is dying, but some of the deeper weed beds in 12-15ft. are still holding fish. It did not feel like a fall bite. There was not a lot of activity shallow, and it seems like the bigger fish are still in their summertime locations. Caught a mixed bag of smallmouth and largemouth between the deeper grass beds and chunk rock banks/points. All fish came on a drop shot worked slowly.

I got bites in the morning in 8-10ft. This transitioned to 12-14 in the afternoon. I caught one largemouth flipping wood in the back of a pocket with a War Eagle Jiu Jigsu Jig. Caught 8-10 small smallmouth and 1 spot.
