Tough tournament out of 5a but glad to get a limit with a couple good fish. Caught smallmouth staging on points in the morning and didn't get much shallow as beds were hard to see with the water being high.

Jigging a Pinhead pro in 6 feet of water and dead sticks made for a great bite in the Winona backwaters this past weekend. The bite seemed to die down midday with most of our bites coming in right at sunrise.

Smallmouth are moving up to start bedding. We were able to find some deep in a cut along rip rap bank. They sometimes won’t bite a jig or commit to it so throw back in with a wacky rig to clean them up!
