Me and my friends went up February 13-15, found walleyes on the steep breaks of the original river channel in about 22-25 feet of water. The bigger walleyes came on dead sticks and small rippin raps. Fishing should heat up as ice-out approaches

Prior to noon the walleye were up shallow between 8-10 ft and then moved into the 18-22 ft depth in the afternoon. Both dead stick and jigging was effective. Lots of great eater size came through.

Humps
Walleye were on mud humps. Caught them on tipups as well as jigging spoons. Fish were finnicky and really had to finesse them while jigging in order to get them to bite. Definitely a hard bite window.

Fished some open water in nearby channel, found some walleye using garmen side image. Used the 6th sense quake and pulled a few out. Recent snow probably bogged the landing down. Ice is dangerous be very careful. I used the boat, very hard to maneuver with lots of floating ice.

Slow rolling the smaller swimmer along current seams was key for nice pike. Weighting the swimmer with 1/4 oz of more was also important to keep the bait down in the water column. Less current the better or even retrieve the bait with the current rather than against it. Take a kid fishing!
