Fishing at Panguitch was better than expected. 18+ inches of ice, very safe for family expeditions. We caught Tiger, cuts and bows. First time ice fishing at this lake. Excellent

The ice on panguitch lake is between 6&8 inches. Rainbow, cutthroat, and tiger trout have been active early in the morning and in the afternoon, however, schools do come through and provide fast action throughout the day. Jigs tipped with shrimp in the 6 foot depth range has been the ticket. Color hasn't seemed to make much difference in the amount of bites. Spoons have also produced some fish, yet not as many as jigs. Remember to check the regulations for panguitch lake, as they do have specific requirements for cutthroats and tigers. Weekends are very busy, so try fishing during the week if possible. Good luck and stay safe.

Still some trout in the lake but not much visibility due to the moss in the lake.

Best results in this time is trolling deep dive crank baits along 30 yards from shoreline or at the dam for large trout
