I went out and fished the Lower Colorado River. I launched out of Fisher's Landing and fished south and into one of the main lakes off the main river. The morning bite was slow for me. I tried a lipless crankbait and fished the deeper offshore grass for not bites. I switched to a 6th Sense Divine Swimjig with Divine Swimbait for a trailer in a bluegill color. Another bait that I caught fish on was a 6th Sense squarebill crankbait in the bluegill spawn color. The swimjig got more keeper sized fish, but the squarebill caught my largest of the day. The fish are tucked into the submerged grass that is now starting to die off. The key was to cover water, and run into isolated fish. I did not find a specific spot that was holding a larger number of fish. The swimbaits listed below as recommended products were not the ones I was using, but are an option if you don't have the divine swimbaits like I was using.

Launched out of Fisher's Landing and ran west on the main river. Found some backwater areas where bluegill were spawning. Bluegill Spawn and Black Magic colored 6th Sense Crush 50X squarebill crank baits caught a bunch of fish.

Fishing conditions are pretty favorable. Fish holding tight to cover. Seems most spawn activity is about over.
