Lake Level 607; water temp 54 to 57; air temp 52; post cold front day; had to fish very slowly; water color stained. Slow rolled spinnerbait caught several but Crock-O-Gator Wiese Jig in blk/blu produced better fish.

Mark Twain Lake: Fished secondary points and small pockets just off of Creek Channels trying to catch bigger Pre-Spawn females. Caught 3 nice fish and several small ones. Caught most of the fish on a Crock-O-Gator 3/8 Zapper Jig with a Crock-O-Gator Ring Craw trailer.

Crappies have been moving to the banks to spawn. Areas replenish themselves throughout the day. We were able to catch them on multiple jigs but the road runner proved best.

The lake is still COLD and MUDDY. There were some spots a little warmer than others but overall its chilly. A couple pockets had muddy water on top with clearer water underneath. 2 bass were caught shallow on the soft jerkbait working it slowly and 1 was caught rolling a shallow diving crankbait on the bottom. I don't think the bass are anywhere near the spawn at this point

It was HOT on the lake. The water temps have increased around 5 degrees in a week. A majority of fish caught were still pre-spawn. All fish were caught shallow, seemingly cruising the bank. It seemed like it was a timing issue to catch anything. Waiting on one spot for 2 hours just for the fish to come up and be caught was my trick for success. I would expect this same pattern to continue up until the spawn. -TIGHT LINES!

Several largemouth were caught SHALLOW! Also, several stripers were caught casting into the areas where shad were being chased onto the bank. I had heard that several parts of the lake were turning over. This seemed to be hit or miss depending on where you are on the lake and even inside different parts of pockets. If you see "pea soup" water, run away until you find clearer water.
