As we get towards the end of the summer months, the bass are suspending on top of the vegetation early in the day. Highly recommend a chatter bait or spinnerbait to tick just the top of the grass. Just as the sun is coming up, throw a topwater bait like a whopper plopper. Look for points and pockets in between the submerged vegetation wall as they are ambush points. By noon and later in the day the bass are still in the same area, but more hidden under the vegetation. Switch to a punch rig or a Tokyo rig to catch the bass on the bottom.

Fast retrieves through the weeds produced a bunch of little ones the slower I went with my retrieve the bigger the fish were. Algea hasn't showed up yet but the weeds are pretty bad. Fished in about 8 foot of water through the weed beds

Submerged Vegetation
The submerged vegetation is growing quite high around the edges of the lake and it is full of bluegill. The bluegill are also in spawn in the flats as well. Largemouth bass can be found with a chatterbait, spinnerbait or even a wacky rig run over the top of the vegetation, in 5 to 12 feet of water. You can find this vegetation up to 150 yards offshore. Try altering speed or yo-yo your chatterbait if a straight slow retrieve is not working for you.
