Fishing early morning or evening hours. Pike hitting swim jigs in or near reeds and pads. Casting well into cover will also trigger strikes once coming out of cover. Also casting squarebills or other crankbaits just off of these areas, but in 8-10 ft of water, is productive.

Largemouth bass are actively chasing swim jigs in reed beds and lilypads. Bass are seeking cover from the reeds and pads in the hot summer sun and are looking to ambush baitfish at the edges in shallow water.

Lily Pads
Fish pads, reeds and areas near to these that also contain standing vegetation. Tip with 4 inch paddle tail. Bluegill colors seemed to work best.
