Fished a tournament on Lower South Long last weekend. It was junk fishing for me in the back of the boat. Caught my first one on a popper. Second one on a wakebait. Third and biggest on a craw tube. Fourth and fifth bass on a spinner bait with Z-Man Goat for a trailer. Caught all my fish on the deep weed line or over the weed flat. My boater who came in 5th, just 10 oz out of 2nd got his bigger fish pitching a jig in the cane. It was a slow bite in our boat. We were last boat out in the morning and ended up fishing behind others a number of times unfortunately. There are a lot of bass in this lake, but it was off just a bit on our tournament day. The winning bag was only 16/14.

Found a big patch of matted grass that produced lots of blow ups. Didn’t have much time to fish but the Matt was full of activity like baitfish jumping and bass busting.

Mostly cloudy today, windy and cooler. High of about 70° today. Water temp was around 74°. Caught fish many different ways in many locations. But I found that the dropshot with a 6" Roboworm worked the best for me. Had much success fishing this along weed lines in 8'-15' of water. Overall it was a good day of fishing.

Crushed the largies on the quarantine craw. Boat was in 15’ throwing anywhere from 5-12’. Had to find the clumps of northern milfoil to get quality fish.

Prespawn with no fish moving to the bank. (May 28th) water temps are low for this time of year due to cool nights. Fish did not want moving baits, slow twitching in the outside weed edge and outside edges of LY dead pencil reeds.
