Water temp is up. Highest I can remember seeing it on this lake since I've started fishing it regularly. Another outing a bit slower than I'm used to here. Was a bit of junk fishing. Caught 4 "keeper" bass, one on a senko, one on a jerkbait, and 2 on the magdraft. Caught 3 ambitious crappie on the Stunna on the north east end of the lake. Biggest was about 12.5"! Need to get out of this funk and have a really good outing soon!

Another really fun day on my favorite local lake. Many smaller fish caught on jerkbaits, all the big ones came on a strike king structure jig with rage craw trailer. Fishing along weed edges! A fun day on the water!

Rough stuff today. Pretty cool air temps compared to what we were having during the week. Couldn't find any bass anywhere from 4pm-8pm. Caught many crappies whenever we saw schools of them on the graph. Once the sun went down, the bass bite picked up. Finished off pretty strong with many bass caught on chatter baits up shallow once it got dark. Night bite is on.

Morning started overcast and a little drizzly, with the water up from all the recent rain decided to check out some shallow cover. Found some solid bass and pike up shallow. Once the sun came out and got towards late morning caught a few on a jig, but the morning buzz bite bait was good and a LOT of fun.

Every trip out this year has been a grind, fish still don't seem to be set up or stacked where I usually find them this time of year. Been picking off one here, one there doing a number of things. Most fish on this trip came on the Stunna, also caught one on a drop shot and the big fish of the day on the jig. Hoping to get some warm, consistent weather to really get the fish set up and feeding like we're used to.

Got out for a couple hours Saturday evening. Had some action on a frog over some growing, soon to be matted, weeds. Then swam a football jig with rage bug trailer along the outside edge of weed lines to good success. Water temp was 66.5-68 degrees. Caught 7 bass in 2 hours. Had 2 get off and had a few more miss the frog. Made the most of a short outing! Nothing big but all between 15-17”.

Fish didn't seem to be set up in the usual summer spots yet. Best action was found in shallow weeds (3-5'). Saw a lot of crappie and bluegill on beds but didn't spend any time fishing for them. Best largemouth went 18.5" 3-1/2#. Had to earn em in the rain but had a decent day regardless. Ready for some consistent warm weather to get the fish set up in the summer pattern.

Fishing was more difficult today with a cold front and strong winds out of the north. Fished a chatterbait around laydowns along the shoreline. Used an Ark Cobb Series 6'10" casting rod paired with a Pflueger President Baticastine reel with a 6-4 gear ratio. Also caught some on a Zoom Horny Toad over emergent vegetation.
