Real tiny jigs in 10-20 feet of water of brush or any structure really, will produce crappie, bluegill, and perch consistently throughout the day. I like a little mini mite jig with a chunk of crawler on it.

Catching fish in 6 inches-2 feet of water chasing around bluegill schools. Dark bottom areas with wood on northern sides of bays were best. Used the fluke stick to catch a few more after going through with the jig.
