Fish were in all 3 stages of the spawn. A large concentration of fish were offshore around submerged hydrilla. Keying in on larger clumps of hydrilla that stood taller than other grass around it was important. The water was very clear so you could get the fish to chase a jerkbait from a long distance. Most fish were caught in 7-12ft of water. Caught quite a few numbers of fish with a few nice ones mixed in.

I found quite a few smaller bass on beds, but caught good numbers and good size off the bank a ways around scattered hydrilla. Caught almost all my fish looking at them on livescope and casting a dropshot right to them.

Bass are staged outside of spawning areas around submerged vegetation in 6-12ft. Cleaner bottoms and small clumps of hydrilla were key this week. Good numbers of bass and some good size ones too on a dropshotted worm.

Mid January water temp 60-64. Some signs of bass spawning, but I think the majority haven't yet. When skies were brighter I caught some fish on a dropshot, but when it got cloudy and some wind I switched to the Spro Araku shad and caught a bunch fishing around hydrilla edges.
