Drop shot was the ticket for deep summer smallies. The majority were found in 60+ feet of water just off of 30 foot humps. Another good bite came early morning on a ned rig up shallow on points, but the bite didn’t last long.

During this mid-summer trip, fished a variety of cover and structure with 5" hula grubs, weighted, wacky rigged senkos and lipless crankbaits. Caught a mix of largemouth and smallmouth bass mostly located on the edge of cabbage patches in 8' to 14' of water on rocky points until mid day. Moved to deeper rock piles and ledges (15'+) through the afternoon with the hula grub, lipless crankbait and blade bait each fished with a yo-yo type retrieve. Covered lots of water and connected with a number of bass for a great day on the lake.
