A rattletrap fished quickly and erratically along lips, ledges and drop offs produced half a dozen fish in about 90 minutes on the Columbia River today about 1800-1930 local, grass is almost becoming a problem for treble hook baits, another couple few weeks and it'll probably be time to switch to a swim jig until the salad starts to die off again in the autumn. Best colors were shad patterns, blacks, whites, Grey's and chromes

New PB tonight, went 15 fish landed and 17 hooked in 90 minutes in the Arlington/Roosevelt area, red Owner Ultrahead Inshore Swimbait hook paired with a 4in BioSpawn Exoswim Feider Shad absolutely obliterated them in the rocks tonight, didn't seem to matter too much whether I fished it fast or erratic or slow, it just flat got bit

        Shad

Landed 8 of 10 on a Rebel Pop-R in Sexy Shad colors, plus 2 or 3 more on a swimbait in the evening, the misses were followed up by casts to the same areas and were rewarded virtually instantly with a blowup, so I probably caught both of my missed fish, the fish were not at all interested in a football head jig, or the buzzbait I offered them, seems that crippled shad is the preference today, seemed to be a pretty even split between the strikes being in the sun, shade, calm, and disturbed water conditions, pretty much if you were over the rocks at the first drop off from shore and popped your popper every few seconds in an erratic pattern you were getting bit.

        Shad

Went 10 for 13 or so today on the Rat-L-Trap fished over rocks and ripped through vegetation, picked up 3 or 4 more on a shad colored spinnerbait, and two or three nice fish in the 2-3lb range on a Pop-R in Foxy Shad, all in all not a bad day for roughly 20 fish after work.

        Shad

Had some pretty nice success last night on a walking bait, a Strike King Sexy Dawg Jr. In sexy shad did most of the work, but I also caught fish on a Rebel Pop-R, a Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap in ghost minnow, and a handful of different paddletail swimbaits on an Owner inshore head, best fish went something on the order of 2-3, and came on the paddletail, but the walking bait got a 2lb fish and probably was overall the most productive lure.

        Crawfish

Took me a good bit to accept that they weren't on a shad bite anymore, but when I finally quit being stubborn and tied on a tube I started landing them pretty close to every cast, just hopping bottom amongst the rocks along the weed edges or crashing through the mats and they were mashing it, best fish went 2lb 13oz and I probably caught half a dozen in 15 minutes. Green Pumpkin body with a bit of blue seemed to be the deal tonight

Been getting into the summer/fall transition, and it's gotten to feast or famine from the shore, Pop-R's and Jerkbaits have been getting it done for me lately, haven't had much luck on many moving baits but if they are going to bite one it's been a squarebill lately.

Prefishing for a upcoming tournament. Found an area where there was a ton of bait balls. 20-25 feet of water was the magic depth. Cast and drag back, you’d get bit almost instantly! Smallies were aggressive! Staggered between the PB&J and Stealth Craw pattern. PB&J was more consistent.
