Fished from my dock on Lake Tillery Tuesday-Wednesday, both early morning/ sunrise and at night. Air temps in the low-20s. Not sure about water temps, but water was clear with visibility at 4+ ft. Nothing awesome, but did catch 1-2 each time, primarily on drop shot and underspin listed above. Also some luck with deep diving crankbaits (StrikeKing 5XD Sexy Shad) casting out across a river channel.

River Channels
Caught 11 bass today fishing a river channel off of my dock. Most were caught on crank baits (Strike King and Bandit), but also one on jerbait (Vision 110) and three on drop shot (4” Senko).

Fished last night and this morning in very cold air temps again (20's-low 30s) so stuck to dock/shoreline fishing rather than take the boat out. As has been the case all winter, Drop Shot with the Roboworm Straight Tail 4.5" in Margarita Mutilator produces the most bites and landings of my techniques. The best bass, however, was landed on a Ned Rig with a ZMan Finesse TRD Green Pumpkin 2 3/4" on a 1/10 oz Ned jig head. Reaction baits did not work at all either time out.

Water temperatures on Tillery remain in the 58-59 degree range in most places below the bridge. Creep up to maybe the 61-62 degree range in the shallow waters up by the dam in the afternoon. The water remains fairly stained, with visibility of no more than 2-3 feet in most places I saw. Given these still colder water temperatures, most of the bass remain out on the primary and secondary points on the main channel. My only success was with a drop shot in 25-30 foot depths. Some guys shared that they were also catching them in 10-12 foot ledges at the mouth of coves. No one reported seeing anything moving into really shallow/ spawning water yet, but it does feel like we are very close.

Caught a 2lb. bass on the 27th and then a 1.5lb one the next day in a cove just south of the dam. Also caught a 10 inch stripper on the 27th in the same area. Fishing is picking up pretty good lately.

Finally took delivery of the new boat and got back on Lake Tillery this week. Caught several smaller bass (nothing over 1.25 lbs) chasing baitfish in what was clear, shallow water (depths of 2' to 5') under very sunny skies. Air temps were near 80 degrees, water temps were in the low 70's. Had some success both around isolated laydowns in coves (larger baitfish, so the 3.8" shad on an underspin worked well) and up creeks (downsized to 2.8" with smaller shad here). Bites all came either bouncing off the laydowns or dragging the bottom with a moderate retrieve.
