Spent the afternoon in the trophy area on Taneycomo. It was the first day with only a 1/2 unit running and the fishing was good and the size was great. We caught multiple fish in the 17-19” range and a beautiful 22 1/4” rainbow. All fish were caught on a scud and size didn’t really seem to matter it was all about getting the drift right. Caught them on mostly light gray tied on a hayabusa 384 fly size 14 and 16. Get out and enjoy the resource! See you on the water! SoMo Fish Co 417-838-3122

Fished the afternoon with the gates open up in the trophy area! The fishing was good, we had 3 browns, multiple triples, and multiple doubles. Most fish were caught on a scud but we did catch a few on a very simple white Shad fly. The key in this heavy current is getting your baits down to the fish and paying attention to your drifts. All the scuds were tied on a hayabusa 384 fly and the Shad flys were tied on a 374 fly hook from Hayabusa. Don’t have many openings left in April but if your interested in getting out on the water I will do my best to help you out. SoMo Fish Co 417-838-3122. Get out there and enjoy the resource guys, we live in an awesome place!!

Ran a trip with a great family from Mississippi this morning. We started off below fall creek drifting night crawlers. We got enough for dinner and then went up to the trophy area. Good numbers above and below fall creek. We caught all our trout in the trophy area on a #16 scud tied on a Hayabusa 384 Fly Hook. I can’t say enough good things about the strength and sharpness of these lil hooks. They keep them pegged and will not straighten. The fishing is great right now with the consistent flows.

Ran 2 trips on Taneycomo the 28th. In the morning all the damage was done under a float with a pink power worm or OSU orange (go pokes). 1/100 head at various depths. In the afternoon they kicked the water on and it was time to drift a scud. Size 14 tied on a hayabusa 384 was the ticket. We had two over 20” and our numbers were decent. It’s hot in the afternoons but when the water is on the fish are biting 👍. Don’t have many openings available in the next several months but if your wanting a trip I can help you find a great guide! We fished the last two days out of Lilleys Landing for the Conservation Federation of Missouri. We caught a ton of fish even with the changing weather conditions. There were a lot of nice browns caught on jerkbaits and we also caught a lot of really nice fish drifting a scud and egg pattern. The scuds were tied on a #16 Hayabusa Fly 384 and the eggs were tied on a #14 Fly 374.
