Temps on the lake are at their warmest and you’ll find your lake trout suspended on the thermocline at about 60-80feet of water. Spoons have worked the best…vary the color until you find the right one (This was near Duluth)

Late spring this year—the ice is just coming off near the Apostle Islands and the brown trout are up shallow in the big lake! Trolling in-line planer boards with stickbaits caught all the fish, nothing hit the leadcore with spoons. Water temp was 34-35 F, had to break some skim ice on the way out, and most fish were in about 10 ft of water.
