Overcast and rainy day today. 13°C outside temperature and 64°F water temperature with low winds. We fished all day on deeper structure near to deep ledges (25-35fow). We were drifting with Carolina rigs, along rocky structure, with the current. Didn't get that many bites, but the ones we got were quality smallmouths!

What a tough day. The wind died down at 10am and it was a struggle since then. It was super sunny, so I focused on the shallow bite for smallmouth. I was fishing rock piles on sand flats and grass flats. Making long casts was key because they would track the hairjig/spybait for a long time, but as son as they saw the boat it was a done deal. They wouldn't commit. Still managed to find some good fish.

Largies were on fire today. Overcast morning lead to a good topwater bite. Had a couple of blow-ups on the plopper and some bites on the swimjig, but the best ones were on the Billy Goat around lilipads. Water temps are getting cooler and days are getting shorter up here, bass are shallow in that green grass looking to feed.

found some nice flats with a mix of sand, rocks and grass, so I decided to throw a jerkbait. Fall transition, sunny day and high winds call for smallies roaming the shallows munching on jerkbaits.

Had an awesome post-storm topwater bite. Big largies were caught. We thought the storm would've shut down the bite, but it seemed like it only turned them on more. The exploded on our soft-plastic topwater baits like it was their last meal. Too much fun !
