Lots of quality smallmouth off shallow boulders, a few off beds. Burning a trap until we found em and then slowed down with Neds to catch better quality ones.

The Ultimate Coldwater Smallmouth Tactic. Hanging or moping a damiki rig. This is the tactic Gussy won the classic on! Some of the keys are to present the minnow a few feet above the fish/bottom. Less is more. Perfectly still is one of the best presentations.

Great to be back on the water. I was surprised to see fish this shallow already. Main target was boulders in 12 FOW. I was surprised to see them this shallow already. Didn't catch anything big, but average was 2.5-3lbs.

We had been trolling for about 45 minutes about to wrap up the session. Hadn't gotten a single bite at the time. Kept going for another 50 feet and got a bite. Thought it was weeds at first. There was no fight. The walleye bit and held on. Realed in the fish and thought it was a northern at first. My uncle grabbed the net and we got it in the boat. It was a 28 inch walleye. Weighing about 9lbs.
