Schools of white bass following shad around and suspending around brushpiles with crappie. Can throw same crappie jigs at them or up your size a little to catch more and better size

We found a few rig fish practicing for a college derby at Lake of the Ozarks. We caught most of our bass on larger brush piles off of dock corners and secondary points. They didn't show up in the same fashion for the tourney, but we caught several bass over 5 during practice. I will try to post a more in depth video about what we did and our main takeaways from the event on my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtpYNuW00uebSY4fQPw5z4A

Super tough bite. We were having a really hard time getting fish to commit to A-Rigs so we started fishing more finesse. One bait that really triggered those skiddish fish was a tiny white underspin. Threw it around massive bait balls in smaller main lake cuts in 20-30 ft of water. The underspin is a good choice when fish won’t commit to an A-Rig but are feeding on these huge bait balls in cold water:

Fish were very few and far between. The best luck I had was drop shotting a biospawn plasma tail near and around docks/points. There was no real pattern to be found. I heard of some people killing it on slow sinking jerkbaits off of bush piles, some people were having luck throwing A-rigs off of wind blown points, some were throwing Carolina rigs so there was no true pattern to be found. In the main areas in the Gravois arm the water temp was 45-46° where as in the river sections of the Gravois it was 48-49°.

Fished mainly the Niangua River section of the Lake. Caught several fish on shallow wind blown points with the Wiggle Wart. Then transitioned to clearer water and caught several on the a-rig on steeper banks. Water clarity ranged from stained to green. It was misting rain all day.

Very slow bite. Working a jerk bait really slow. Or occasionally got a reaction bite from a crank bait.

Just twitching a jerkbait on some bluff transitions. Thought it was pretty neat that I was getting more bites on a Mavrik than a Megabass. They were sitting right on the bank sunning themselves. They'll pull up quick.

Fishing got really tough with the temperature drop overnight, as well as high winds during the day, it made it quite hard to fish the schools of fish we had located. After struggling all day, made a late adjustment and got some redemption by catching this big girl cruising on a point.
