I fished Lake Oakland for a local derby last week. The reapers were out(they had 2 going) and I’m thinking that effected the fishing. The weeds were nuts though on the south end of the lake. The curly pond was wrapped around my prop pretty much everywhere I went and I wasn’t all that close to shore. I didn’t have much luck until I started flipping a weightless fluke under over hanging trees. I ended up catching about 8 or 9 largemouths from 13-15 inches in the last hour or so. Lost about a 17 inch kicker at the very end because I tried to horse him through the Lillies on flouro and he popped off. Otherwise the lake was fairly pleasant. Not too many recreational boaters on a weeknight and the ones that were there kept their distance from most of the Guys on kayaks.

Flipping docks. Less jig bites than previous days. Biggest came on the Texas rig in the same areas I've previously caught them on jigs.

Swimming the swimbait slowly around grass and small drops was working. Caught 13 largemouth in 6 hours. The cold front moved them back out of the pockets.

Flipping docks was super productive 22 fish in 5 hours. Best 5 were 14.5 lbs. Caught some on a bladed jig as well.
