As a fisherman without electronics, I love when the bass can be found shallow. There is a lot of dead water this time of yea, so I tend to focus on the most obvious areas, covering water until i get a bite. As bass are chasing bait, when you find one there will most likely be more. Fish areas close to deep water access where bass can corral bait. Forage is small this time of year, but don't be afraid to throw big baits or trailers anyways

Find the sets of lily pads that are popping with bluegill and take your time. Allow the frog to be heavy and forceful on the pads to attract the attention from bass and always 1-3 seconds in between pads to allow the bass a clean eat to reduce the amount of missed fish!

The bass have moved shallow chasing bait. Find anywhere that bass can pin bait shallow, ie any point, bluff wall or area with quick access to deep water. Slow down and toss a senko if needed, a hungry bass may be looking for shad but cannot resist a senko sitting in front of them

Lily Pads
I caught a few largemouth flipping a 3/8oz Jackhammer into groups of lily pads that weren’t too dense. I had success both putting the bait directly into holes between pads and casting it over the pads and ripping it through. Using a Jackhammer is important because the blade vibrates instantly and the 3/8oz size is necessary to keep the bait high and not dug into the stems.
