We were casting into the weeds and along the edges. Looking for scattered fish and they were absolutely loving the wacky worm.

Smallmouth are starting to move shallower as we are getting into fall, and I was able to catch some fan casting small swimbaits over points.

Fished 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m, air temp 63F, wind southeast 4 mph, fished off of Cedar Street Landing, downtown Minocqua. Surprising all weed growth along this shoreline was dead. Managed to catch one small northern and a largemouth bass on a chartreuse spinnerbait. Fish were over patches of sand grass. Fish were in 6-8 feet of water. I tried fishing out to 30 ft depths, with a variety of baits, marked very few fish or bait fish. I was fishing out of a kayak and decided to move to a different lake.
