Post spawn while the fish are up shallow yet there is a magical period of the year on this lake where you can absolutely hammer the bass on a whopper plopper. I prefer the bone color in 90 or 110 size.

Lines are freezing and largemouth are in a feeding frenzy. Jerkbait bite was on fire and jig as a follow-up was great after they missed the jerkbait

What a beautiful opener we had in MN this year. Largemouths were schooled up in 3-5 feet of water around fresh submerged vegetation. Making a long cast and reeling a swim jig through the vegetation. Also found smallies cruising in 6-7 foot sand flats with more activity near rocks. Leading them and timing them with a black hair jig seemed to be the ticket. Water temps in the morning were between 56-57 degrees but by afternoon where 59-69 degrees.

On the west side of the lake, cast you favorite finesse jig tipped with a craw and cast along the reeds. Large Smallmouth are swimming around foraging right after spawn. If you find yourself on the South West part of the lake, drag a Carolina rig along the bottom in 10ish ft

Braved the big winds and found the fish on windblown shore lines with sparse weeds in about 14-16 feet of water. Easiest way to find them was to troll a tungsten bullet weight and slow death rig while watching side scan and livescope. You then could spot lock on the fish and cast to them. A 3/16 ned rig and a big zman trd seemed to work well. Most would hit the bait before it hit the bottom. The fall bite isn't quiet here yet but with cooling temps in the forecast, hopefully we can get that fall bite that everyone loves!

Largemouth bass were stacked up shallow along the bank in areas that had sand patches mixed in with shallow grass and docks. If you could see patchy bright sand spots mixed in with vegetation, you were on a fishy stretch of bank. Fish were roaming around everywhere so you just had to drift around shallow and fan cast. Some fish were definitely under docks as well. An occasional smallie was caught mixed in with all the largemouth.

Paired this trailer with an Untamed Tackle Ace Jig. The profile was definitely what they wanted as I caught several key fish on this combo. Ace Jig's smaller size allowed them to eat more of the jig even though they were biting soft.

Catching a ton of bass on Minnewaska on a ned rig lately. Both smallmouth and largemouth in 4 Dow and less. Near docks for largemouth and on rocky flats for smallmouth. A lot of the largemouth are on the smaller side, but the action is constant so can be very fun!
