It was a seasonable hot day with bluebird skies and light wind. The bite was tough. I tried all the top water baits, crankbaits, A-rig, donkey rig, spinner bait, etc. The only bait that but fish in the kayak today was the soft jerk bait. I used a slow retrieve with 2-3 pops let the lure sink a little then reeled in the slack. No giants today just some little guys.

Top water fishing was in full force. I could not get the bass to bite anything else I threw at them except top water. I caught well over a dozen bass all on top water nothing of huge size though. Most of them were caught on the Shower Blows and a few were caught on the popper.
