Fished the lower end of the lake with a white toad on a buzzbait. The fish were holding on water willow around docks early in the morning during low light. They moved further out as the sun came out.

Between catching fish on a walking bait and dropshotting the same areas and brushpiles that they came up schooling from, I was able to win a local Saturday tournament with 11.65lbs and BB for 3.65. Bites were consistent and the fish were all close in size. This is basically the same pattern I was on for the BFL but with a few different tweaks. Fun day of fishing and a day of catching fish.

Fishing the Super BFL as a coangler this weekend forced me to be more creative than usual. This included adding a feathered treble to my topwater which is what the majority of my fish came on. The other rig that did a lot of work offshore was a drop shotted roboworm. These were the two baits I utilized on underwater humps to catch schooling fish. However, on both days my kicker fish (2lb 15oz on day 1 and 4lb 1oz on day 2) both came from floating docks. This is where I turned to the 2.8" Keitech on the MB Okashira head on day 1 and a 168 S-Waver in the Warden colorway on day 2. Fun tournament that I ended up finishing second in after I brought in the heaviest coangler bag of 10lbs 6oz on day 2.
