We had another good day out on lake Eufaula Alabama on the north end of the lake around grass creek near Florence marina. The water was still some what muddy from all the recent rain but the bass were definitely beginning to move shallow. A Texas rigged worm pitched around lay down produced the most bites but the fire craw chatter also did put some good fish in the boat! I’ve recently changed my line choice to the new Shimano Mastiff fluorocarbon and I honestly can’t say enough about it. It has proved to hold up very well even when pulling 3+ pounders around laydowns, out from under docks and even through some pretty thick grass and of course offers the incredible sensitivity that we all love about the fluorocarbon. Basically Shimano has come out with a product with the quality that we would all expect from Shimano and it does not disappoint!

We had another good day at lake eufaula the other day fishing around lake point state park and Florence marina. Using a swim bait around laydowns in 4-10 foot of water, a chatter bait, a 7.5” worm and caught skne good ones on the spro poppin’ frog. Fishing right now is 🔥and they’re biting really good. The new Shimano fluorocarbon is absolutely amazing and I seriously can’t say enough about it! You seriously gotta try it, the castabilty, knot strength and abrasion resistance is incredible and has little to no line memory. It’s truly everything you would expect from Shimano with the great quality.

Shad spawn is definitely going on right now. I fished the upper half of the lake staying above twin bridges in pockets that had grass. I paralleled the grass line and the bass would come out from the grass and eat it. A good follow up bait was a swim jig.

Most bites came from shakey head but the better quality fish came from spinner bait and trap; fished bank ledges and points. Best results came when you could feel gravel/rocks on bottom.
