The weather was cold and Raining. All the big bass were in Pre-spawn and were stacked up on the points right off the lake. If the marina had a rocky break wall of point, there were big bass stacked on it. Casting of these points you want to make sure and contact the structure. Usually rip rap and concrete slabs were used to build these points. Crank hard to get down to the structure and then slow your retrieve. Make sure to throw across the points in several areas and also continue to change your angles. If you catch one keep moving around as others continue to move in

Found a few rock piles in some clearer water and they were holding walleye, smallmouth, and drum feeding on gobys. Tube was my bait of choice but you could definitely get bit on anything slow moving on the bottom. Had to weave through lots of drum to get a good smallmouth bite.

Using a Ned rig with a slightly heavier head, we've been able to secure some great fishing in the outer realm. Finding the less pressured fish have been the key to success. Highly recommend an Outkast Tackle Perfect Ned Head in 1/4oz, hook size to your preference. And any TRD style bait you wish. Happy Hunting

Using paddle tail swimbaits and reeling slow to get that subtle tail kick, we managed to clean up a good amount of smallmouth on isolated boulders next to a gravel bottom. This produced a 25lb bag and a 2nd place finish in one of the bigger tournaments in our area (Port Clinton). Some great baits are the Venture Lures - Steady Swimmer and the usual Keitech.
