Fish are holding on the submerged grass edges in 10-12 fow. A painfully slow retrieve with subtle rod shakes triggered bites.

Water was lightly stained after the storms, even tho the water water 81 degrees all of the fish still came in 2-8 feet of water. The key was finding outside weed edges and reed patches. Look for irregularities in the weeds like a hard bottom a boat lane through the weeds etc. another good portion of fish came from skipping a jig underneath boat docks and swimming it in

If you wanna catch large mouth bass, fish the weed lines. They are sitting in 2-10 ft of water. Water visibility is super clear when there isn’t any rain usually up to 10-15ft you can spot fish. When heavy rain you can see up to 8 feet maybe a little less.

While live suckers are whacking the snot out of them, a hard hitting, rolling jerkbait can still trigger strikes. Throwing parallel to submerged grass and really snapping the rod caused the most success. Dumped two that hit like freight trains and landed this dude.

The bad news first: there are zillions of pike--with the guidance against harvesting because of the 3M chemicals, you'll find them everywhere. But you can catch nice bass too--my PB largemouth was here 2 years ago. Both species crush the dropshot in the summer in 12 to 18 feet on a sharp dropoff and weed edge near the northwest corner of the lake. Slow rolling a chatterbait is a reliable method as well.
