Water temperatures are low to mid 60s and the bass are starting to move into the shallows. Chatterbaits and swim jigs in lighter colors were key to getting bit opener weekend with the larger fish seeming to target the slower action of the swim jig. A paddletail trailer was key.

Crappies were just moving into spawing beds. During daylight ours fish were scattered, but around 5pm they started filtering into the thicker reed beds.

It's Lead Core Season! Deep trolling (28-32 ft). It has been really windy lately and tough to get on the lake. Walleyes have been active in the main basins. I have been trolling with lead core line using Rapala's and had a fair amount of success. Time of day does not seem to matter.

Sunken Island flat on the southwest side. 10-15 feet deep. Varying reel speeds. Let the bait die after first strike. Baitcaster 6’6” rod.

West side of the lake. Drop off weed bed. Hit hard once but missed. Recasted and let it drop instant hook set.
