Using the Outkast Float N Fly Hair Jig to target suspended smallmouth and largemouth on forward facing sonar. Creek and River Channel bends with bluff walls have been the most successful areas to target. As the water temps get cold a small hair jig like this on light line can get some bites when other techniques are not working. I like to use a medium light rod throwing these as it seems to help cast these lighter weight jigs better as well as fighting larger fish with light line.

Slowly fishing down bluff walls at the mouths of creeks mid lake, several smallmouth including a few over 18 inches. Goodtime to try out this old school technique. Soaking the jigs in some Baitfuel in a ZipLock bag and swapping out throughout the day seemed to help increase bites as well.

Focusing on secondary points that are windblown, target the 25-30ft range with large umbrella rigs and hang on. Shad are starting to die off. Roll the rig painfully slow through the water column over top of these points for best results.
