Good day today. Smallies are starting to come in from the deep. They should be chopping on jerkbaits real soon. What I found today was that they preferred blade baits.

The key of the day was to find areas of hard bottom in 4-6 feet of water with the start of new growth vegetation. Slowly creeping the swimbait along keeping it just above the bottom and even dragging it on the bottom sometimes was the ticket. If you didn’t make some contact with the bottom you would not get bit. If you thought you were reeling too slow then you needed to reel even slower. Killing the bait on the retrieve would also produce a bite here and there. Flashy Swimmer an absolute must. 30+ fish day! All quality fish!
