Tough day spent most of my time drifting with the wind and covering water in the 20-30' range

Worked the crank from shallow to deep on a slight trough focusing on the weed line. Big crank but worked it like a square bill (burn pause, burn pause), she came out from the weed edge and chased it for about 10ft before committing to the bite. Megabass deep-six has a tight wobble and more of a deep knock to it, perfect for cold water reaction strikes.

Smallies were holding tight to bottom structure and were in a fairly negative mood. We were able to catch a few good ones by hanging a damiki rig right in their faces.

Was able to pick up a few nice largies drop shotting points in anywhere from 10-25 ft of water. Still some grass in the area so I was using a Robo rebarb hook in 1/0, perfect size for the 6 inch worm. Later in the day switched to a nose hooked flatworm and picked up several smallies in the same areas.

Put the hammer on em today including a new PB smallie at just over 4 pounds. Prespawn is about to be in full swing, they are chewing bottom baits like crazy. Short drags and small hops. Make sure to check your line often, area is full of jagged rocks.

Bombing a swim jig around the grass flats with a steady retrieve and then killing it every few cranks. Whenever there was a opening in the grass I would throw the jackhammer and get a few bites that way as well.

Culmination of my last few trips combined. Caught 57 on Sunday and the majority of them came off two rock piles where they were schooled up and feeding like crazy. Pitch in a scounbug bug, couple short hops, let it soak and feel for a bite. Rinse and repeat. Was getting them every other cast. Be sure to check your line often, those rocks are sharp!
