Wow my mapping came in huge this day just used regular basic mapping nothing crazy. I was finding 10ft flats were there was hard bottom and minor eel grass or any grass of sorts nothing in particular for this method. I would bomb out my 110 jr as it was the same size as the shad. I use straight 6lb fluro as it allows the bait to look much more real in the water. TRY IT! I was a big hater but till I tried I didn't nearly catch as much till now ! I would recommend using a spinning set up as it allows you to have much more cast-ability as well as much better drag were fish can't come off on the side of the boat. It also naturally keeps your hands were they should be in order to have a much better retrieve ! Fish were ambushing out the weeds and the clumps, when the lipless bite slowed down maybe because they see it so much the 110jr was perfect. I would also recommend reeling it it straight with slight rod twitches to enhance your presentation !

Weather was variable throughout the day with mid 60 degree water temps. Found a pattern on the southern end of the lake pitching a drop shot on coontail edges in 9-16ftow. If bluegills were around on these edges the bigger largemouth were much more prevalent. Ehlers edge was the best color robo used, the darker colors were definitely working better.

Was very skeptical on this when I bought them after hearing the buzz the past couple of years, seemed kinda corny to me. Oh boy was I wrong real wrong. I used a 76 mh rod to make bomb casts these things are heavy, this allowed me to make casts into areas were fish could not hear my ultrex. I would then slowly reel it in and let in drop in areas kinda imagine reeling in a hair jig 10x slowing same concept. It was 98% weedless as well as more durable than I thought but defiantly bring superglue these puppies are expensive. Caught some big mommas on it and see these being a very popular product this season. Also with a chewed up shoulder from wrestling these are nice as they don't wear on you as a regular bait you would Texas rig and have to rip out of the weeds !

Fantastic Day had 15.5 lbs came super close need to cull a 2lber I could not get rid of all day ugh !!!! But we Scraped all we had and target bass in all the 10 foot flats it was a blast we would use a moving bait and then we would hunker down once we would find the area the school of bass was. It switched when the wind picked up and sun came out lights out ! They were eating the living snot out of the shad and even had shad in my live well when I was cleaning it back out after the Derb. These fish are staging infall ways and bits post and pre it is wack but a fun bite keep your head up you never know when the fish will turn on. We had nothing till 11 then sacked up and culled up 7 pounds to anchor our our with a 5.25 pictured in my right hand. A 3/4 oz trap late in any color 1knock or any knock produced the key bites we needed to finish 49th out of 250 !

Water temp pushing high 60s at some points during the day, when it was sunny out got on a bite on the southern end of Guntersville pitching a drop shot into the holes in the eelgrass marked on side imaging. The key was to find eelgrass mixed with some healthy coontail and if milfoil was mixed in as well it was a bonus. Aarons pro magic in the 4.5 size was the best drop shot worm of the day.

Fishing grass flats in the main river near the south end of the lake. Caught many good sized post spawn bass on traps being burned over the tops on the eelgrass. Also fishing the weed lines with the yum dinger rigged Texas with a unpegged 1/4oz weight.

Unreal day fishing overcast on rock bridges was awesome using live scope to cover parts of the bridge which showed what parts had the gills and the shad as well as the yellow tail "skipjack" I would simply throwing Into the current along the bridge and let the bait swim into the bait ball as soon as the drop shot just merely left the "bait ball" fish would fire and eat 8ichers all the way up to this buet 5lber !
