4/24/21 water temps 48 degrees with 7 feet of visibility. Light rain/cloudy day with light winds. Most fish were caught in 20-25 feet both sitting on bottom and suspended. They were heavy fish every one had a full belly. They seemed to be in small groups, 2-3 fish together. Livescope helped a lot with suspended fish off the drops, sometimes in 40 feet of water suspended at 12-15. Jerkbaits produced the most fish large and small, and swimbaits were producing larger fish off the bottom. Blues and browns were the colors of choice today.

5.9.22 Water temps still around 46*F but fish are actively feeding and chasing. They were displaying signs of being territorial on the livescope, chasing the bait for a distance and returning to the same areas... kinda leading me to believe that the spawn will be happening soon. Low and slow, most of the fish in deeper waters (20-ish) were suspended 1-2ft off the bottom, same with the shallower bass they were just above the weeds cruising. Tried jerks, Tubes, and a little drop shot, but they weren't having any of that. Ended up with 16 Bass both green and brown and a ton of pike. Don't waste your time on those real deep marks (30+), unless you want to catch pike all day.

I was fishing in 10ft of water on open flats and noticed large Small Mouth swimming just below the surface. I started throwing a Okashira Screwhead with a 4" Spark Shad. Caught some nice Smalley's. Also caught a couple bass using Hazeddong shad swimbait on a drop shot

Crappie
5/16/21 Blue skies with broken clouds, light wind with water temps in the high 50s still, fished deeper with jerkbaits, swimbaits and gliders which produced some smaller fish. With the 12-15 foot water clarity, you could see the bass starting to bed up, but I leave them be. Pulled a lot of smaller bass fishing docks, definitely a good time doing that. Not uncommon to come across large schools of massive crappie right now, so bring your ultralight too! Buy all the Omnia gear, that's the real secret!

With the rapid rising water temps the spawn is happening, there is a mixture of smaller males and larger females roaming the shallows, the larger bass seem to be holding off the flats, but ready to move up any time. Baitfish are suspended above isolated weed patches and offer up food and cover for the Bass, so don't pass up those areas, they are worth checking out. Lots of followers on the livescope with no commitment.
