Caught a bunch of fish on the deepest side of the reeds flipping a 3/8 black and blue jig. It was important to have your jig tight to the reed stems to get bit. Most of the fish were 1-2 lbs but managed a couple over 3.

Was able to get out for a few hours in the morning on the kayaks with the wife. Caught several bass, and also several large pike, casting a swim jig parallel to the reeds. The North Shore has a lot of reed patches. Tried the inside and outside edges, but only has success on the outer deeper side.

Appears fish are building beds, nothing locked on yet. I would guess they started building then got thrown off by all the fronts moving through the last week or so. 1.5-2.5 pounders up around beds in reeds using texas rigged craw baits and stickbaits. Expect full blown spawn next week in this area.
