With a cold front coming though fish were moving slowly and had backed up to nearby rip rap and rock areas for the warmth. Fishing Ned rig was producing numbers and the finesse jig got size.

Hit the water about 6am today. Water temps started out around 47-49 everywhere I went. Struggled to locate a substantial amount of fish at first. Later on in the day we managed to find some relating to shallow rock after water temps rose up to about 52-53 degrees. Moving baits such as crank baits, chatterbaits, and spinnerbaits seemed to get them to bite.

Early motning fishing green vegetation and ripping the lipless through triggered the bites.

Fish were biting and aggressive despite the recent cold front. If you could find a school it wasn’t uncommon to get a bite every cast for several casts in a row. Key areas were vegetation and pinch points in 3-4’ of water.

Largemouth are the most abundant species on this lake and come in big sizes because of the 18" size limit. I had a recent guide trip and we managed to catch several big largemouth bass 18-20" using swim jigs, chatterbates and spinnerbaits. Also dark colored flipping jigs.

The bass were hanging tight to certain clumps of weeds and the bait placement was key as they were chasing bluegills. The clients caught some of the largest bass of their lives and had a blast.

Was fishing up shallow with few to no bites while working docks from the front to the back. The fish almost ate it instantly as I started to reel. Water Temps varied from mid-60s to high 60s. The fish ended up weighing in at just under three pounds and could tell it either still had eggs or had been feeding up and getting ready to spawn.
