I caught fish throwing an a-rig around bluff walls. Finding fish with livesocpe and then dropping the a-rig down to them can be very productive.

Bluff walls are a great place to find fish in the winter. I caught fish dropping a blade bait down the sides of bluff walls. Let it flutter to the bottom and then jig it back up.

I was using electronics to graph fish in 20-35’ of water following the river channels. When I spot fish I’d hit spot lock and vertically drop the Zman graph Shadz on the fish. No need to jig aggressively, just hold dead stick with slight movements keeping it just above the fish.

We up the river arms and fished live bait (shiners) in water depths of anywhere from 15-25’. It seems the fish are still on both sides of the spawn, some shallow some deep. Our best fish came in deeper water on the river channels in 25-30’.

The spotted bass were chasing shad off main lake points and into coves. While fishing points I was always on the lookout for blowups. I like a rigs with blades this time of year, extra bling to get their attention.
