Water temps hovered between 63-66°F while we were out. Wind was non-existent at 7:00am but picked up to a solid 10mph by 11:00am. Water on the eastern sides of the lakes had very little visibility, maybe a foot, but the west side's of the lakes seemed decently clear w/ 5-6' visibility. Morning started off with a few top water bites and a keeper on a PopMax and a small one on a Vixen. We had some good frog blow ups in the dead pads and tall grass, but nothing significant. The real money ended up being the jerkbait bite on Finch. We were able to find a pattern of dragging across the drop offs with a long pause at the drop off getting the bass active. They almost always hit on the long pause. Grabbed a 4 1/4lb doing this and several other keepers.

Bass were hitting on chart spinner baits and t-rigged lizzards (specifically Fishlab Slam-a-mander). 7/13 boated were keepers.

Bass are in the shallows hugging the reeds. White and black spinnerbaits thrown into the reeds and through the pads have been producing Minnesota monsters. Wacky rig has been producing as well.

Bass were suspended about 5-10' off ledges. Nothin was really biting on shore. The only bites were letting ned's, dropshots, and wacky's drop through bait balls hovering over drop offs/ledges.

Bass were holding just offshore on the drop offs in about 6-7' of water. Yoyo'ing chatterbaits worked exceptionally well. Probably had a 10-11lb bag by 11:00am doing this. Wacky rigs were also productive.

Fish were mostly located in shallows and in the creeks. Open water was pretty dead. The channels produced decent numbers but nothing of significant size. Didn't get bit on anything except wacky's.

Fished tournament 8/18, water temp ~80°. Lake has just turned for Fall. Grass was dead everywhere and starting to rot. Really hard to find any quality fish. I believe two bags of 5 for the whole tournament. Absolute definition of junk fishing. Found somewhat a routine on a rat-l-trap cast along weedlines, but only one keeper off it. Caught others on a spinner bait, popper, and wacky worm.
