The SDBF High School State Championship went well. My boys won the event throwing jerkbaits on main lake points. The key of the day was to have a solid rotation. There were 3 points holding quality fish, and the schools would get active for 15 - 25 casts and shut off. Each pass the boys would catch one 3 - 4 lbs and go to the next point.

Water temp in the low 60s air temp in the high 60s. Got on a fun prespawn smalljaw bite cracking a tube on isolated boulders in 3-8ftow. Mixed in a jerkbait as well but the tube got more bites.

Air temp mid 70s, water temp low 70s/high 70s. Caught a lot of numbers fishing sand to rock transitions in 4-8ftow as well as isolated boulders, some smallmouth were also on bed. Caught the majority of fish on a ned but also mixed in a tube and small paddletail.

Water temp mid 70s, super fun bite cracking a siren colored tube very aggressively on rock piles and weed edges in the 12-20ft zone, when I marked smallmouth directly underneath me I would drop a little swimbait on their head and video game em with 2d sonar.

Water temp in the mid 70s, had a ton of success cracking a tube on sand grass/coontail edges and on isolated rock in 10-18ft zone. Played clean up with a dropshot once the schools got accustomed to the tube.

Water temp in the mid 70s, the big smallmouth are offshore chasing perch in 12-22ft I was utilizing a dropshot and my 2d sonar to video game em and cracking a tube to cover water.
