Got out around 10 am. Water temp was hovering around 39°-40°. Truth be told I set out to catch smallmouth. Which I did. Anyhow, targeting humps and submerged vegetation yielded fish. Mainly 3 to 4 ft of water. Simple cast and retrieve. Just fast enough to keep the bait out of the muck on the river bottom.

Decided to go toss a bladed jig around today on some 10 lb Shimano fc mastiff and see what I could catch. Managed to land a few smaller bass ripping the jackhammer out of submerged vegetation

Casting the sleeper and letting it hit bottom then a slow retrieval was key to getting bites today.

One of my favorite bait combos for spring. The Owner flashy swimmer/ keitech swing impact fat combo flat out catches fish anywhere. On this particular day I was focusing on 3.5 to 4 ft of water off windblown banks. That's where I was finding fish.
