Went left out of Lakefront Park throwing a frog along and in the reeds with no luck, so I went with the Yum Swim n Dinger and got a bite on 3rd cast and caught the one pictured few cast later, 1.98lbs. Threw up into the reeds and he hit it just on the edge of the reeds, very faint bite. Caught another one later on down in the pepper grass about 1.50lbs.

Only got 5 small guys today, 1.58 was the biggest. I got broke off 4 times, one was definitely a turtle and one was a really big girl that bent my rod over double, took a bunch of line and broke off. Missed a few, think that they were just grabbing the tail instead of inhaling it. Fishing inside the reeds to the left of Lakefront Park, targeting pepper grass.

Got on the water early today, first cast at 542am. Went left from Lakefront Park and fished along the reeds. Caught 9 total biggest one at 2.24lbs, most were 1.25lbs to 1.50lbs with a couple of drinks. Good bite while it was cloudy and then turned off when the sun came out. I was off the water at 826am.

Started the day with a frog but only had one swipe at it in 45 minutes so I put it away and went with a underspin for a while and got nothing. Picked up the Dinger and caught 3 right quick before loosing it and went to the Swim n Dinger and caught the rest. I had 4 get off at the boat, missed 3 and had 3 come off when they tangled me up in the reeds. The Shimano Mastiff line holds up very well in the reeds and underwater grass, no breaks today and didn't even have to retie. Most bites were faint but with the line and the Trika 6x rod I was able to detect them.

Caught 7 small ones today, 1.45lbs was the best and the others were around 1lbs and up. Caught 2 on the Dinger in Black and Blue early and then the rest on the swim n dinger watermelon red flake. Had to fish going towards Fells Cove because the wind was too much for where I have been going, left out of Lakefront Park, and it was much calmer towards Fells Cove.

I put 14 in the boat today, mostly on the Dinger worm, couple on the swim n dinger. Size ranges from 1.16 to 2.24lbs. I got broken off 3 times, fish got off in the reeds 4 times and had 7 get off on the way to the boat. Put in at Lakefront Park and went to the left out of the canal and fished along the reed line looking for some pepper grass as well. Went down about a mile total and then went back around near Chisholm park, still fishing along the reeds line and in pepper grass.

Went out today to test the Shimano Mastiff line against the Seaguar Invisx and put 9 in the boat ranging from 1.18 to 2.88lbs. Started off with the Yum swim n dinger watermelon red flake and got bites right away but the hook wasn't coming out of the worm and into the fish so I missed a handful right out of the gate. I was using my Trika 6X rod with a Soleus XCS reel with the Mastiff on it and switched over to the 13fishing Muse Black rod with the Seaguar on it and had the same problem although I did get one in the boat. I was throwing up into the reeds and working it back out into clearer water in about 4 - 8 feet deep. I took the old hook off the Mastiff and retied on a new hook and that mostly solved the problem. Still had a couple that I missed, but it seemed normal after retieing. Both lines have excellent feel, castability and manners. About the only difference that I can see is that the Mastiff didn't get any nicks or frays in it from the reeds, lily pads and the pepper grass that I was fishing in. It did cast a little bit farther as well, but that could be partly from the rod AZ it does cast farther than the 13fishing rod anyway. (One of the selling points) Overall, pleased with the new line and like the fact that I didn't have to retire during the day.

Got 7 today, 1.63lbs was the best and most were 1.50lbs or so, one dink. Fishing along the reeds in about 4 feet of water. Pepper grass and reeds were the key as they were biting very close to the reeds or when it would clear the grass. Started with the Black/Blue before sun came up and then switched to the watermelon red flake before finishing up with the watermelon pearl. Got 3 on black, 2on watermelon red and 2 on watermelon pearl.
