Around the first of middle of May, a great way to catch largemouth on Douglas is a Carolina rig. A green pumpkin lizard with the tail died chartreuse is my go to bait. Fish this around river rock points in the middle portion of the lake. I typically fish this with a 1/2oz or 3/4oz sinker about two feet above my bait. Fishing it slow along the bottom can provide great results!

Throwing a jerk bait down transition banks that go from the river channel to a shallow, pea gravel flat or point is one of the best techniques to catch a lot of bass. The best part is you can catch largemouth and smallmouth as well here with this pattern.

Getting as far up the river as you possibly can this time of year can pay off in a big way. There are bass up the river that can be caught while the majority of the other anglers are targeting the big schools out deep. Throwing a shallow crank bait or sometimes a topwater are the best techniques to use.
