Work the worm on the visible outside weed edge. (4-6') A chatterbait over cabbage and denser pondweed also produced so bigger fish. But Deer does not have much of that kind of cover, so work a chatterbait as needed

Look for deep weed edges and points and work a drop shot. You will have to weed through some smaller fish, but there are some above average fish in Deer. Docks and the pads by the launch are worth checking out. I like to throw a heavier jig around the pads on Deer.

Frist time on deer lake today; started working pad fields and submerged weeds with topwater (frog) but only got one blow up so I moved to docks where I started skipping a wacky rigged senko under docks and that is where I found some really nice bass, even one that was big enough to break me off after running back under the dock twice!

Docks
There are plenty of lily pads on this lake so having a frog tied on is a must. Make sure to cast way back in some of these because the bass will push up shallow and sit in the shade. Also throwing a frog around docks can produce bites.
