MEA weekend - great time to get my 7 year old niece out fishing for her first time ever. We found the panfish on a sunken island in the main lake. They were on top of the sunken island in 5-7' of water in the standing weeds. Bright colored tungsten jigs were the ticket tipped with wax worms. Set the slip bobbers deep - 12" off the bottom. Water temps on the main lake were at 48 degrees. Back shallow bays have already dropped to 44 degrees.

Slow bite, but managed to ice a couple of really nice fish, including this chunky 24”er. Set up on a submerged weed line in 14 fow. Nothing fancy, just a jig and a minnow head. They were hugging tight to the bottom. Good luck!

Crappie bite was steady and had to sift through a lot of 7-9” crappies. There were some really nice fish mixed in there including this 13”er and a 15”+ that I lost at the hole…… The hot bait was any ice spoon that glows tipped with a minnow head. Deeper hole in about 16 fow. Tight lines!

Temps are cooling down and bass are back up shallow. I caught this 4lb’er on a Jackhammer Chatterbait in less than 2 fow! Casting near shoreline, over submerged vegetation.

Spotting fish balls on sidescan and downscan. I found some sort of strange structure at 15’. Been pulling decent crappies out. It’s near the first point by the awesome house. I’d be happy to share location if I can figure out how. I took my kids with tonight. The pic shows a “sunfish” not a crappie, but it was in the same spot.

Humps
Walleye action off the hump, just past the island. Jigging in 14-20 fow, tipped with minnow head. Action is relatively slow, but there are quality fish if you are patient. They seem to want a more subtle approach, not too aggressive with your cadence.
