So, I bought a new Shimano Metanium reel last week and I spooked it with the Shimano Mastiff line in 14lb test and threw a homemade football head on it. The line performed perfectly! I didn’t break off any jigs, the line cast like a dream! Sensitivity is ok but, I say that because I am not used to throwing straight flouro. I generally use braid with a flouro leader which is what I had on my spinning rod with a Ned on it. Using Mastiff as my leader again it work perfectly! I did however break a Ned head off which was stuck hard. Long story shortened I caught six 4 largemouth and two smallies. Tight lines all!

Hello All, fished crooked creek Sunday, I started ahead of my buddy and thru a crappie jig out and tossed a football jig around. I caught a small smallmouth on the crappie jig and short time later a largemouth on the football head. My buddy showed up and we went to a rock pile we know of and he caught two smallmouth on the Ned rig, I caught the rock pile multiple times and lost a bunch of jigs in the process! So, we started to move around and I picked up several largemouths on the Ned rig. The nicest fish of the day is in the picture. Tight lines

I added a 16v battery to the boat for my Garmin, I went in the afternoon for about 3 or so hours. I struggled when I got there but, switching baits and rods till I cam up with a drop shot with the above mentioned bait on the hook. I started throwing it and caught a green sunfish, and I started seeing bass on the screen and made a drop and caught one!!! Then as I went along I caught some small crappie and caught a few more bass the one pictured was the largest and came on a Ned rig.

I went with a buddy to break in his new boat and show him how to use everything. After awhile he wanted to fish. We used Ned rigs to catch a few fish my buddy caught the first and biggest which is pictured

Small lake gets a little too pressured sometimes but the shakey head does real well under tree branches you'll see hanging down and also a popper works really well there.

Fished Friday and Saturday afternoons had two bites on a Ned rig in green pumpkin. I must have been sleeping because I missed both of them! So, Saturday afternoon went back out and tried again it took a minute to get bit but, i finally caught one! On a tube no less. It was great getting the boat out again but now it’s getting cold again but, I know spring is around the corner cause Phil said so! Lol
