Squarebill crankbaits are a great way to slow down you retrieve when cranking the bank. The extra wide wobble allows you to slowly crawl it along chunk rock. Start on the sunny side bank.

Team tournament. Cloudy to sunny/70°-90°. Fished hard for seven hours in Defeated creek. We only caught one keeper largemouth bass on a frog. 3 bass for 6 pounds won our derby. I say that's some tough fishing fora 15 boat tournament.

In the summer (water in the low 80s), start at the back of the creeks. The baitfish transition to this area which draws the predators. You might mark fish on the bluff walls, marina and channel ledges but, today, the larger fish were active in the backs of the creeks. Pitch or flip a Texas rigged ribbon-tail into brush piles, fallen trees and the large rock formations in 6’ of water or less. Sometimes you can find grass to swim your bait through but it’s not a guarantee.
