Lake Champlain is still in early summer patterns...with all of the flooding in VT, the water is dirty and there's allot of current. Find points and pinch areas

I don’t have a ton of experience fishing rivers, but this was a tournament so I had to make the best of it. I found all of my fish on grass edges where the deeper river channel swung in to a creek. Football jigs and drop shot were the two techniques that I could get bit on. Late in the day the water dropped significantly and the fish really seemed to fire with the current change and set up on this grass edges that made points and current breaks.

Topwater bite was on around bridge pilings and lay downs. Both a walking bait and a popper. Multiple slashes at the topwater baits. When then missed, I would continue my cadence, if they stopped attacking I would follow up with a soft stick bait and catch them with that.
