I had a chance to go out this afternoon for a couple hours. I decided to flip and pitch reeds and that is all I did! I fished reeds between 2 to 5 foot of water. I was paying attention on the little pockets, points and isolated patches. I caught over 20 fishes but only 6 keepers. My best five was 15 pounds.

Wind has been blowing strong so I have been fishing flats close to the main lake between 6 to 8 feet of water and burning the strike king red eye shad. A lot of short bites but sometimes you run on a few good ones.

There’s marked rock pints on the lake that have smallies on them and off the sides, this time of year a hair jig fished slow or a tube drug off the edge is working very well

Long casts on a windy day around rock have been enticing smallmouth lately. With tulibee as forage, this color of jerkbait really matches the hatch. Bass are likely a mix of spawners and pre spawn at this water temp and given how this year has progressed with late ice off.

Hot day but overnight cold temps have been driving fish shallow. Found this one on the outer edge of a reed stand at last light just about as we were going to come in for the night.

Found some brush piles and fished the whopper plopper over them by casting past them towards the bank and retrieving just fast enough so the plopping noise starts. Picked the rest off with a Texas rigged craw
